Dogpatch

Last post of the month and the last of three vintage stickers recently purchased at a thrift market in Eureka Springs. Dogpatch was one of the first memories I have of Arkansas. Not only an Al Capp cartoon, it was a theme park located at the then-isolated area of Newton County, Arkansas.

Home of the Shmoo

Back in the 1970s, my old man had a filling station and one of the coolest things about it was all the tourist brick-a-bract. For the longest, there was a sticker carousal that was filled with awesome stickers. I has this sticker as a kid. Memories. Found (and quickly purchased) in a thrift store in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

April 1971

Very odd looking place. Can’t tell if it is a wedding, theater, an entertainment or religious event. Location unknown. Carousel Slide Tray Box says “Hinsdale“. Presume that is Hinsdale, Illinois. This was from 1 of 2 complete carousels. Every slide is square. Not sure if that is 35mm or another format. Found in a antique shop outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
